What’s happening with the coronavirus has happened in 4 months.. what happened with the flu (Swine Flu) happened over a year span.
This is a much deadlier virus.. attacks all ages and demographics. Young, old black, white, healthy, unhealthy etc.
By the number the commenter is not correct.
Troy Zam nope not yearly because flu is seasonal – Since the 2010–11 season, CDC estimates that during each influenza season, influenza virus infection has caused 9.3 million–49 million symptomatic illnesses, 4.3 million–23 million medical visits, 140,000–960,000 hospitalizations, and 12,000–79,000 deaths.†††† Preliminary estimates at the time of the report for the 2018–19 season fall within these ranges.
CDC estimates that up to 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died. That’s fairly on par with a typical season, and well below the CDC’s 2017-2018 estimates of 48.8 million illnesses, 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths.
2018-2019 influenza season lasted 21 weeks
