(Wednesday, 7-12-23) I came in with the Hollins on the 13th after my car took a crap coming in from Colorado. Diane and Daryll are a blessing, and I’m honored to know them and have their friendship.
The car is not something I can afford to repair, so at this point, I do expect my season to end. It is a shame since I expected to get over a year out of the damn thing. I do not have the resources to repair or replace it, so my goal after XDA is to return to Colorado. I have my motorcycle back home, but it is not one I can use for long trips. I hope to get one of those one day.
My main concern was to get the XDA and get it covered for my partnerships. We made good time and arrived and got set up. I made arrangements to get to the lodging location I use here in Maryland.
I got to the track early Thursday morning and finished some work in the media suite before making one of many rounds through the pits. Today is mainly a testing day, with some pro-class qualifying at the end of the day. Hard Times Parts and Service sponsors a gamblers race for Friday as something fun to do for the racers and it also allows them to get some more lap time in but it is not a points class. My Friday goal is gathering content and building extra for my inventory. (carries us through the off-season)
I keep working into Saturday an focused on keepng the event out on the spotlight and the traffic flow was showing good numbers. The team I rode up with did not mak ethe cut to race Sunday so when they were ready to go I had to go too. So Sunday I would not get anything done. It tunred out to be a late day for the XDA series.

The weather people were forecasting a washout, but we did not get any until later in the evening. I worked to get some content up and focused on a variety of shots but also on some gambler’s race coverage. Here are some shots from Friday.
XDA officials were working to push the event to try and get the pros their Qualifying pass, but the storm just got here too quickly. Lighting required them to shut down the timing system so the first Q1 would get lost for the day. I’m surprised the gamblers race made it as far as it did since it is not an official class and can be bumped, but XDA was trying to get it done. The Gamblers race semi-finals will finish up Saturday morning.
